You Can Create It

This is the kit we had for our January 'You Can Create It' challenge:

All very pink for my liking!
I tried thinking outside the box, to do something that wasn't the obvious romantic card - but after much thinking I hadn't really had a breakthrough, so this is what I ended up with:

The kit had:
Rose Red & Blushing Bride card, Glimmer Paper and Love Blossoms DSP.

I have also used:
Whisper White card, Sweetheart Punch, Itty Bitty heart punch, Curvy Corner Trio punch, Confetti Hearts Border & Little Letters Thinlits.

You Can Create It - December Challenge

Well, the schedule didn't really have any let up in December!

I shall only be posting a couple of times in the first 2 weeks of January whilst I compose myself ready for the year ahead - and the new seasonal catalogue!!

This is my entry for the December 'You Can Create It' challenge:

This is the kit we received - there is an A6 white card hiding at the bottom.

You have to use at least a bit of everything supplied.  I wasn't going to make a Christmas card as I was still finishing some Christmas day which was not the plan this year but for one reason and another I ended up with one but I do love the penguins.

The Snow Place stamp set is super and the matching framelits are rather smashing too!

Have a look at Teri's blog here tomorrow to see the other entries.

Happy crafting New Year to everyone.

You Can Create It - July challenge

These months seems to be flying by.  Now we are in August I can show you another card I made for the You Can Create It! challenge.

This is the kit we got for July:

The second picture is the same kit but with the paper strips turned over so you can see the other side - surprising how much more muted the other side is and shows how many options there are with 3 little pieces of paper!

The paper is from the Cherry on Top 6x6" Designer Series Paper Stack.

The card colours are Bermuda Bay and Cucumber Crush and I don't mind saying when I first looked at it I was slightly horrified!  But that is why I joined in so that I could try something different and challenge myself outside of my comfort zone which it is very easy to stay in some times.

So, this is my card:

I'm not quite sure how it came about in the end but I'm rather pleased with it and as someone has mentioned it could make a good alternative for a man card.

I've used strips of all of the paper (both sides) and edged 5 of them with the smallest notch in the Banner Triple Punch.
I've used a strip of the Cucumber Crush and embossed with the Decorative Dots embossing folder and topped that with 'Congrats' from the Tin of Cards stamp set and cut out with the Word Window punch.

The button has a little piece taken from the white jute ribbon tied through it and to finish I punched some Itty Bitty stars and added some white perfect accents to them for that finishing touch!

Some of the entries are on Teri's blog this month if you click HERE - why not join in too?

You can Create It - June

This is the kit I received for the challenge in June:

We have to use at least a bit of every item in the kit.

I decided not to make a card this time to challenge myself a bit more.

I used the Gift Bag thinlit and turned the 3 banner punched pieces into bookmarks by using the Tag Topper punch on the other end.

I ran the gift bag through the Fluttering embossing folder and have used a selection of Watercolor Wings butterflies and the little one from Kinda Eclectic to add to the project.

I've used the Neutral DSP stack to add a strip to the bookmarks and finished them with little vellum flowers, pearls and a bow from the bag thinlits.

Monica's blog here is showcasing some this month.

You Can Create It! challenge

Another month and another challenge.

This is the kit I received in May (not showing 2 pearls that I might not of seen in the envelope!):

And this is the card I made:

Card colours are Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz and I've added Daffodil Delight - rather a zingy combo for me but it's good to try different things.

I've used the Flower Patch stamp set with matching framelits which I'm really glad is in the catalogue again as I haven't used it enough this year!  I've mounted these on a couple of die cut circles and the doily.

Then I used a new punch!!  I didn't think I needed the 'Banner Triple' punch but I so did - you do too!
You cut your card to one of the three sizes the punch takes and it nips the end to make a banner, I've used all 3 sizes on this card - just because I could.  Hee hee.

I've finished by adding the bakers twine and adding the candy dot brad base with a gem as I didn't know I had pearls.

You can see some of the other entries on Teri's blog here.

You Can Create It!

Well, retiring products are flying out of the door - I get a peek at the new catalogue next week, very exciting.

In the meantime though we still have plenty of goodies to purchase and play with.

I've decided to join in with 'You Can Create It!' which is being run in the UK by SU demos Teri and Monica (clicking on their names will take you to the first challenge).

You pay £2.50 for a month or £12 for 6 months to receive a little kit each month to make a card with. You have to use at least a part of each item in the kit but can add additional items too.

This was the kit for the second month:

I got a Sahara Sand card and some paper from the Something Borrowed DSP pack.
A heart punched border (with the spare hearts) and one of the Something Borrowed embellishments.

I was faffing as couldn't decide what to make so just went for it!

I've added a Rich Razzleberry layer and used a stamp and sentiment from the Your Perfect Day set which I've inset where I cut a circle out with my framelits.
I coloured some of the spare hearts with a Rich Razzleberry marker and added a punched Itty Bitty flower.

I've finished with some Lace Trim and linen thread.
