Sending Love

Don't forget penguins aren't just for Christmas!

This cute little chap has been layered up on the Layering Oval Framelits and Stitched Shape Framelits (which will hopefully be re-appearing shortly).

I've used a sentiment from the Sealed With Love stamp set and the new Falling Petals embossing folder.

Christmas prep

So, it's never too early to start your Christmas cards - what about now?
I thought I'd start with one on January 1st again and see what happens!  I shall be making no promises but I might try one now and again.

The Snow Place stamp set (and matching framelits) is in the main catalogue so still very much available.

Just one card a week gives a great stash by the end of the year!

Merry Penguin

A couple of products that aren't retiring are the Snow Place stamp set and the Circle Layering Framelits.

This cute penguin, his accessories, snowflakes and sentiment are all from the the Snow Place stamp set.

He's sat on a couple of Circle Layering Framelits.  The set contains a mix of plain and scalloped edge circles, ideal for layering.

They are on offer in the year end closeout deals currently for £25.60 instead of £32 and a really handy set to have.

Cookie Cutter Christmas

We had a good party last night hosted by Andrea with 11 ladies.

I did a make and take with the Cookie Cutter Christmas stamp set, matching punch and Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.

I gave the ladies the choice of which of the characters from the set to put on the card from the gingerbread man, santa, eskimo and reindeer.  The characters are mounted on a 1 3/4 punched circle which is layered on one of the Layering Circle Framelits.

The card, paper, ink and marker colours are mainly Crumb Cake and Real Red.

The sentiment is from Snow Place and the card is finished with Candy Cane Lane Baker's Twine.

A Penguin for Christmas

I've had a play today with the Mini Treat Bag framelits and some of the new Christmas paper, this is the Presents and Pinecones DSP (there will be an offer in October on paper so save those pennies).

I've also snuck in a super little mini jingle bell for his hat which is in the new catalogue.

I've also used:

Cherry Cobbler Silky Taffeta ribbon
Metallic Foil Doily
Snow Place stamp set
Snow Friends Framelit dies
Time of Year stamp set

Pretty Florals

Another easy card for today using a different colourway on the Detailed Floral Thinlits:

I've used white on white but added some little flowers which were 'scrap' from cutting out this die in Sweet Sugarplum.
The 'For You' is from the Treat Bag thinlits, mounted on a layered circle and finished with some matching ruched ribbon.

Yesterday this little chap also turned up on Facebook:

Just to mention that penguins aren't just for Christmas!

Birthday Boy

Another bright card for a rather mixed weather week!

This cute chap is from the Snow Place stamp set that is still available (and not just for Christmas!).

The balloons are from a new set called Balloon Celebration, I have stamped the body of the balloon in one colour and used a further stamp to go over the top with detail in a different colour.
I have punched one out with the matching punch and 3D'd it.

The sentiment is from the Hello Sale-a-bration set that is only available until 15th Feb and it has been punched out with the Word Window.

Colours used:
Card & ink - Cucumber Crush & Basic Black
Balloon colours:
Pool Party & Tempting Turquoise
Watermelon Wonder & Real Red
Daffodil Delight and Delightful Dijon

You Can Create It - December Challenge

Well, the schedule didn't really have any let up in December!

I shall only be posting a couple of times in the first 2 weeks of January whilst I compose myself ready for the year ahead - and the new seasonal catalogue!!

This is my entry for the December 'You Can Create It' challenge:

This is the kit we received - there is an A6 white card hiding at the bottom.

You have to use at least a bit of everything supplied.  I wasn't going to make a Christmas card as I was still finishing some Christmas day which was not the plan this year but for one reason and another I ended up with one but I do love the penguins.

The Snow Place stamp set is super and the matching framelits are rather smashing too!

Have a look at Teri's blog here tomorrow to see the other entries.

Happy crafting New Year to everyone.

Sale!

There are lots of tempting discounts this week.

Firstly, the Weekly Deals has the precision base plate for £16.50 instead of £22.  This is recommended for getting a better cut for intricate dies and a must to go with the sizzix brush coming after Christmas.

Then there is a year end sale which has many temptations, take a look here.

Weekly Deals are available until 11pm on Tuesday night and the year end sale is while stocks last!!

This card features a stamp set and embossing folder that will be still be available in the Spring catalogue - hooray.

The stamp set (and matching framelits, of course) are called Snow Place & Snow Friends.  They can be bought in a bundle too.  I love them.

I made quite a few last week for all the Bloomin' Buds and a couple of other friends, a little time consuming but enjoyable.

Items used:
Real Red & Whisper White card
Snow Place stamp set
Snow Friends Framelits
Softly Falling Embossing Folder
Holly Jolly Greetings
Christmas Greetings Thinlits
Word Window Punch
Ink: Memento black, Old Olive, Real Red, Tempting Turquoise
Tangelo Twist marker pen

Black and White Part 2!

Far too long between posts for various reasons, generally life getting in the way!

There is so much to share I must crack on and return to the other card I made for World Cardmaking Day:

Isn't he cute?

The background is embossed with the Softly Falling embossing folder with some white star sequins added.

I saw the igloo on Pinterest and thought it was a super idea.  I embossed a circle in the Brick Wall embossing folder, cut the bottom off and punched an oval for the door!

Penguin and sentiment are stamped and die cut.

Other items used:
Snow Place stamp set
Snow Friends framelit dies
Project Life Cards and Labels Framelits
Oval Punch

You Can Create It - August

Another month and another challenge.

This was the pack we got for August (which would of looked better photographed on black!):

A Sketched Dot bag, some Whisper White card, organza ribbon and a metal rimmed pearl.

Well!  I considered using a portion of the bag but then it seemed a shame to cut it up so I used it for its full purpose:

I've filled the bag with sweeties and used some new products to decorate it.

I've stuck a piece of embossed card to the bag, punched at the ends with the new Curvy Corner Trio Punch so the ribbon threads through.

The banners are cut using Framelits and I've run the white one through the gorgeous new Softly Falling embossing folder.

The sentiment and penguin are from the cutest new set called Snow Place which comes with matching framelits and you can buy both in a bundle for £39.75.  There are 22 stamps in the set which includes a few sentiments and lots to decorate the penguin and his 2 snowmen friends.

You can see the other entries at Monica's blog here.
